“Pau Ferro” is a work developed by Sérgio Soares, who uses Candomblé as an aesthetic medium. His work goes beyond the ritual and communal context through his invention of alternate forms and “place” of the religiosity of Candomblé.

Iron and wood are the main sculptural elements in the work of Sérgio Soares, who has the deities Ogun and Oxossi as his guides. Ogun is represented in the objects made of Iron and Oxossi in the objects made of wood. The union of the two elements, wood and iron, also allows for the representation of all the other deities.
